Success is not a function of material Acquisition but life touched. Here is one from Tobi Okunuga; I’m humbled by this! Today I want to take the time out to celebrate the Emperor – Stephen Akintayo
I remember way back in 2009 at Olabisi Onabanjo University where you made me the chief operating officer of Gilead Balm Consul t(your company name then), that was where and when my journey started. I remember the lessons vividly…
We would run training, spend money on flyers… and at the end of the day, very few people show up, so we run into debt.
I remember when we organized a financial empowerment seminar in school and attached N20 to all the flyers, hoping that will make people attend the seminar, however, just 7 people showed up… I remember that day like yesterday… we ran into huge debt.
In retrospect, I think why people were rushing to collect the flyers from me was because of the N20 on it… hahahaha…
Fast forward to 2015, I came back to the company to serve as an intern; that was when I learnt what being an entrepreneur really looks like. I developed the capacity to do a lot of things.I got promoted severally and had the opportunity to head the affairs of the company severally.
I’d say you intentionally gave me a platform to try out a lot of things. I got the exposure and confidence I run with today from GText.
Most importantly, you were an example for us all. You were patient with me… of course I messed up plenty times. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve, I cannot quantify what I learnt from you.
God bless you.
