The popular saying that “readers are leaders” will always remain valid. This goes to show that there are life’s mysteries hidden in the pages of books which remain unseen and unknown to many due to the deteriorating culture of reading.

It is believed that the best way to keep things, ideas, etc away from a black man (in particular), is to record them in writing. This is, to say the least, disheartening.

We must wake up to realise that ideas rule the world. And these ideas are embedded in the pages of books. Therefore, let us awaken the reading culture. The world today has experienced a great level of development as a result of men and women who made the bold step to change the narratives based on the knowledge at their disposal. And in return, they pass the knowledge across-for those who have their ears to the ground.

Prolific writers such as Stephen Akintayo, Robert Kiyosaki among others, have carved a niche for themselves in the area of knowledge transfer. They have numerous books and organised conferences that have transformed lives all over the world with continuous testimonials from beneficiaries.

In a bid to awaken the zeal to read, the following steps are important

  • Be intentional about getting knowledge-this is the place of discipline and sincerity of purpose.
  • Open your mind to new ideas from the book, as they might conflict with what you think or know.
  • Take practical steps towards what you have learned. Don’t stop at just reading.

Be a part of the generation that is changing the narrative. Search and find knowledge where they are embedded. Read more books and get more wins.
